Who Controls the Worlds Satellites
In the summer of 2026 a GPS signal failed across Poland. A phone's blue dot froze. A delivery rider was routed into oncoming traffic. A hire bike refused to unlock because the app could not confirm where it stood. On the 21st of August the Polish navy reported that its minehunter, the Albatros, had been jammed while operating off the coast.
Nothing was physically broken. No cable was cut. No building was stormed.
This documentary follows that signal back into orbit — through navigation and timing, communications, weather and observation, the commercial constellation era, military dependence, anti-satellite weapons, jamming and spoofing, the cyberattack that took a satellite network down through its ground segment, the debris problem, and the treaties meant to govern all of it.
The question underneath is simple, and nobody has a clean answer to it: who actually controls the objects modern life depends on, and what happens when orbit becomes contested?
