What Happens When the Parent Becomes the Person Who Needs Help
When a parent starts needing help, the relationship changes before anyone feels ready. This video begins with their wishes and follows practical ways to organise support while protecting independence.
Repeated changes and sudden confusion need different responses. We cover small shared routines, agreed help with money, home safety, careful legal authority, sharing caring work and separate support for parent and caregiver. England examples are labelled; legal and care routes vary across the UK.
Family scenes are illustrations. The approved photographs show illustrative settings. Sources and survey limitations are recorded in the fact sheet.
